Ukraine conflict to ultimately end through negotiations US Secretary of Defense says

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has expressed the belief that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine will eventually be resolved through negotiations, though he acknowledged the uncertainty regarding the timeline for such a resolution.

Speaking at a press conference at the Ramstein military base in Germany, following a meeting of the Western countries' group coordinating arms deliveries to Ukraine, Austin emphasized that while he is confident that a negotiated settlement will occur, predicting when that moment will arrive remains challenging, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.

Austin’s comments underscore the continued international support for Ukraine while highlighting the complex and protracted nature of the conflict. The meeting at Ramstein focused on the coordination of military aid to Ukraine, reflecting the sustained commitment of Western allies to support Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict.

The Ramstein monthly meetings, organized by the US at Ramstein Air Base or remotely, began in April 2022, two months into Russia’s full-scale invasion. These conferences gather defence ministers and officials from over 50 nations, including all NATO members, to coordinate military aid for Ukraine amid the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.
