Ukraine creating “army of drones” to help troops defend country
A special project is being launched in Ukraine to collect drones for the needs of the Armed Forces.
The program was called the “army of drones”, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the Ministry of Digital Transformation of the country.
The project was founded by the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, the Ministry of Digital Development and UNITED24. The program includes not only the systematic purchase of drones but also their repair and pilot training.
At present, it is planned to purchase 200 professional tactical unmanned aerial systems for aerial reconnaissance. Such UAVs can fly during the day at a distance of up to 160 kilometres and an altitude of up to 5 kilometres. They are equipped with several cameras with a thermal imager, position sensors and software.
Those who wish can make a donation on the UNITED24 website or donate their own drone.
