Ukraine defends against night of drone swarm, Iskander strike PHOTO

Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine overnight, deploying hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and a single ballistic missile of the Iskander-M type, Ukrainian military officials have reported.

Thus, by 08:00 local time on January 30, air defences had intercepted or neutralised around 80 enemy drones, Caliber.Az reports via the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The attack saw hits on 15 locations, including one confirmed strike by a ballistic missile and 25 UAVs, with wreckage from downed drones falling in two separate areas.

In total, 111 drones and one Iskander-M missile were involved in the assault, the Ukrainian military said.
