Ukraine downs 139 drones in overnight Russian attack

Ukraine’s Armed Forces said Russia launched a large-scale overnight drone attack on April 23, deploying a total of 155 strike unmanned aerial vehicles, including “Shahed,” “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and other types of drones. Approximately 100 of the drones were identified as “Shahed” models.

According to preliminary data released by the military as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence systems shot down or suppressed 139 of the incoming UAVs across the north, south, and east of the country.

The military reported that 11 strike drones reached their targets, with impacts recorded at nine locations. In addition, debris from intercepted drones fell in four separate locations.
