A major train accident occurred on the morning of April 23 in North Zealand, Denmark, leaving multiple people injured and prompting a large-scale emergency response.
According to local police, two passenger trains collided at a railway crossing in the Kagerup area between Hillerød and Gilleleje, Caliber.Az reports, citing Danish media.
Police, firefighters, and rescue services were deployed to the scene shortly after the incident. Authorities said significant emergency resources, including military helicopters, were assisting in the response operation.
Roads in the surrounding area have been closed, while rail services on the affected line have been suspended indefinitely.
Preliminary reports indicate that between five and ten people were injured. Rescue officials warned that some injuries may be serious, though there have been no confirmed fatalities or reports of passengers being trapped inside the trains.
Emergency teams remain at the site as rescue and recovery operations continue. Once the situation is stabilised, authorities plan to remove the damaged trains and begin a full investigation into the cause of the collision.
