Moscow blames German elite for collapse of bilateral relations
Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky said that relations between Moscow and Berlin have been effectively destroyed, blaming Germany’s political leadership for the deterioration.
According to TASS, Lyubinsky stated that ties between the two countries have entered another difficult period due to the actions of Germany’s ruling elite.
“In our relations with Germany, difficult times have come again — through the ‘efforts’ of the German ruling elite, they have been essentially destroyed to the ground,” he said.
Lyubinsky added that Berlin is once again threatening Moscow with war and “seeks to inflict a strategic defeat.” He also criticised what he described as the “fanatical persistence” of German authorities in supplying weapons to Kyiv, claiming they are “literally taking the last shirt off their own citizens.”
Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on Germany’s reaction to Russia’s publication of the addresses of drone manufacturers supplying Ukraine. He said that “a guilty mind is always uneasy.”
Lavrov added that German officials are aware they are acting in ways that may not serve their own interests. He also noted that the conclusions reached by the Russian side have been repeatedly discussed by political analysts and reflect considerations within Russia’s leadership.
