Ukraine experiences over 50 military clashes with Russia in last 24 hours
As many as 55 military clashes between the Ukrainian Defence Forces and Russian troops in four directions took place on May 16.
According to updated information, the enemy has launched 31 missile strikes over the past 24 hours, including two S-300 missiles on the civilian infrastructure of Kostyantynivka, Donetsk Region, and two Kalibr missiles on the civilian infrastructure of Mykolaiv, Ukrainska Pravda reports citing the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff’s report.
“In addition, the Russian occupants carried out 57 air strikes and 96 rocket launcher attacks on our troops' positions and settlements. For missile strikes, the enemy used 6 Kinnzhal air-ballistic missiles, 13 Kalibr cruise missiles (2 missiles exploded in the air) and 10 ground-based missiles (S-400, Iskander-M), 25 of which were destroyed by our defenders,” the report said.
According to the report, the Russian attacks destroyed private houses, a hospital and other civilian infrastructure in several settlements of the Kharkiv Region, which also led to civilian deaths and injuries.
“Over the past 24 hours, the Defence Forces' aviation conducted 14 strikes against areas of concentration of enemy personnel and military equipment, and also four strikes against the enemy's anti-aircraft missile complexes. Last day our defenders destroyed 10 strikes and six reconnaissance UAVs. Units of missile troops and artillery struck six areas of concentration of manpower, three electronic warfare stations, four ammunition depots and one enemy fuel and lubricants point," the report says.
