On the night of June 18, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine involving 7 ballistic missiles of the “Iskander-M/S-400” type and 239 strike drones, including “Shahed,” “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and decoy drones of the “Parody” type, the Ukrainian Air Force announced.
The air assault was repelled by aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, the report added.
As of 08:00, preliminary data indicate that air defences had shot down or suppressed 216 targets, including 4 ballistic missiles of the “Iskander-M/S-400” type and 212 UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country.
The Air Force also reported that two ballistic missiles and 26 strike drones hit 9 locations, while debris from intercepted targets fell in 7 other locations. One ballistic missile is still being verified.
“The attack is still ongoing, with several Russian UAVs remaining in Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety rules!” the statement added.
