Ukraine fortifies Odesa in preparation for all-round defence VIDEO
Ukraine is reinforcing the southern port city of Odesa with extensive defensive works as part of preparations for what officials describe as an “all-round defence” posture.
According to Caliber.Az, the regional command of Ukraine’s Territorial Defence Forces “South” said a multi-kilometre system of anti-tank trenches and reinforced bunkers is nearing completion around Odesa.
The works also include barbed wire barriers, concrete anti-armour “dragon’s teeth” and mined defensive zones.
In a statement, the military said the measures were intended to deter any potential offensive or amphibious landing attempts, adding that the defensive network was designed to significantly reduce the risk of enemy advance in the area.
“These measures are not merely a demonstration of strength, but proactive work,” the statement said.
“Any attempt at a breakthrough or landing operation will be doomed to failure.”
