Ukraine, Germany sign deal to jointly produce BARS drones
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius have signed an agreement on the joint production of BARS unmanned aerial vehicles.
“The agreement was reached as a result of joint work between the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defence of Germany within the framework of the Build with Ukraine initiative.
The German side will finance drone production during the first phase of the project, and all manufactured systems will be delivered to Ukraine’s Defence Forces,” Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said on its Telegram channel.
Earlier, Ukraine signed an agreement to begin work on a drone deal, reached a separate arrangement with the Netherlands on the joint development and production of UAVs, and concluded a defence cooperation agreement with Estonia focused on drone technologies.
