Ukraine gets special equipment, over 130 generators from US
Kyiv has received special equipment and generators from the US government to work at boiler houses and heat supply stations of the Ukrainian capital - we are talking about the transfer of four excavators and more than 130 generators free of charge.
Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko made the remarks on Telegram, European Pravda reports.
According to him, under the USAID international technical assistance program, the Energy Security Project provided KP Kyivteploenergo with four excavators and more than 130 generators free of charge.
"The new JCB backhoe loaders will help emergency workers promptly repair damage to heating networks and restore heat supply to Kyiv residents.
"Modern excavators have already been delivered to the capital and will be involved in the work in the near future. Now 38 emergency crews of Kyivteploenergo are working in all districts of the city.
"Every day they eliminate 30-40 damages on heating networks. The new modern special equipment will allow for rapid and accurate excavation, which means it will accelerate the performance of emergency work," Klitschko wrote.
He added that diesel generators provided by USAID were transferred to boiler houses, thermal power plants, and heat supply stations, as well as for dispatching and communication needs. According to him, these are the facilities that it is important to provide independent power sources.
