Ukraine grants top honour to EU foreign policy chief
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the EU’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, the Order of Princess Olga, a state honour recognising outstanding contributions in public, governmental, and other fields.
Kallas announced the award in a post on X, expressing gratitude to Zelenskyy and reaffirming her commitment to supporting Ukraine amid its ongoing war with Russia, Caliber.Az reports.
“I am honoured to receive the Order of Princess Olha. Ukraine has been on my mind every day since Russia started its war of aggression. Thank you again, dear Zelenskyy, for this great honour. I will do what I can to support your country defend itself,” she wrote.
The Order of Princess Olga is awarded to women for notable achievements across a range of sectors, including public service and science. The specific class of the award conferred on Kallas was not disclosed.
