Ukraine has right to defend itself beyond its borders, NATO chief says

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg before the meeting of NATO ministers in Oslo recalled that Russia started the war and that Ukraine has the right to defend itself.

Media representatives asked him to comment on the recent episodes of bombings on Russian territory, in particular, they asked about the drone attack on Moscow, which has been linked to Ukraine, Liga.net reports.

"Our position is the same as it was at the beginning of the war: Ukraine has the right to defend itself. Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine is a gross violation of international law, and the right to self-defence is enshrined in the UN Charter," he said.

The NATO secretary-general added that Western allies would support Ukraine as long as necessary.
