Ukraine imposes new sanctions on Russia, Iran, and China
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted a decree imposing sanctions on six individuals and over 40 entities from Iran, China, and Russia on September 19.
This move is part of Ukraine's ongoing efforts to expand its sanctions list against those supporting Moscow’s military actions since the onset of the full-scale invasion, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
The newly sanctioned individuals were identified in proposals from the Security Service of Ukraine, aimed at implementing special economic and other restrictive measures. Notably, China, while claiming neutrality in the conflict, remains Russia's primary supplier of dual-use goods.
Among those sanctioned are six foreign nationals linked to drone supply chains for Russia, including Hamid Reza Janghorbani, director of the Iranian firm Pishgam Electronic Safeh Company (PESC), and Yang Fan, an official representative of Hong Kong's Hongkong Himark Electron Model Limited. The sanctions also target several Russian nationals: Alexander Fedorko, Igor Dyugurov, Valentina Grigorieva, Liliya Alimova, and their respective businesses.
In addition to individual sanctions, Ukraine has placed restrictions on 40 legal entities from Iran, China, and Russia. Key figures on the list include Saad Sazeh Faraz Sharif, head of the Iranian company Shakad Sanat Asmari, as well as top officials from the Aerospace Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The sanctions extend to significant industrial players like the Russian ship lighting plant Mayak and the Kazan State Gunpowder Plant.
