Ukraine introduces “white list” for Starlink terminals
The Ukrainian government has approved a resolution introducing a “white list” system for Starlink satellite terminals, Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said on Telegram.
Under the new rules, only verified and officially registered devices will be allowed to operate in the country, Caliber.Az cites the minister's post.
All other Starlink terminals will be disconnected. The measure is aimed at preventing the use of Starlink by Russian forces.
“This is a response to Russia’s use of Starlink,” Fedorov said. “Russian drones equipped with these terminals are difficult to shoot down. They fly at low altitude, are resistant to electronic warfare, and are controlled by operators in real time even over long distances. <…> This is a forced step by the government to save the lives of Ukrainians and protect our energy infrastructure.”
