Ukraine, Ireland outline priorities for cooperation in Dublin
A Ukrainian delegation met with Irish President Catherine Connolly in Dublin on December 2 to discuss a range of issues aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The talks focused on the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, the inclusion of two Irish universities in the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, and Ukraine’s potential accession to the European Union, including possible steps to expedite the process, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Telegram.
The meeting also covered collaboration on global food security, the rehabilitation and social reintegration of Ukrainian servicemen, and the construction of shelters in Ukrainian schools.
Ukraine expressed gratitude to Ireland for its support since the outset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, highlighting the financial and humanitarian aid provided, as well as broader efforts to assist Ukrainian citizens.
Following the discussions, the delegation took part in a joint media session with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin.
