Ukraine, Israel presidents discuss support for Kyiv, sanctions on Iran
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, during which the sides discussed support for Ukraine and prospects for achieving peace.
Zelenskyy shared details of the call on his Telegram channel, thanking the Israeli leader for his solidarity with the Ukrainian people and for supporting the Ukrainian resolution at the United Nations General Assembly, marking the fourth anniversary of the start of the full-scale war. He noted the importance of the warm words addressed to Ukrainians and подчеркнул that the key focus of the conversation was on steps to end the war unleashed by Russia, as well as on providing Ukraine with reliable security guarantees.
“The President noted the introduction of sanctions against the Iranian regime. Ukraine’s position has always been clear: no terrorist anywhere in the world should go unpunished. This is the only way to restore security and stability. We are closely monitoring developments around Iran and the actions of the regime that supports Russia’s war and has supplied Russia with ‘Shahed’ drones for terror against Ukrainians,” Zelenskyy wrote.
