Ukraine military braces for possible Russian offensive from Belarus

The commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergei Naev, has said that Ukraine is constantly monitoring what is happening in Belarus, and as of now, it is ready for a possible new offensive from this territory.

General Naev spoke about this on the air of the national news marathon, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.

He explained that the level of military threats is measured by the corresponding size, composition of troops and their combat potential. At the same time, something is measured by numbers, and something is measured by a measure of efficiency.

“The accumulation of the corresponding forces and means of Russia together with the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus will create a threat of a repeated offensive in the northern operational zone, in particular, against the city of Kyiv.

But the level of these military threats is constantly measured by our partners, this information is provided to us in a timely manner, and we, as professional soldiers, also react to the growth in the level of this military threat - we take measures so that our troops are in the appropriate numbers with the necessary weapons, military equipment and the necessary more high combat potential.

As of now, we are ready for an offensive from the side of the Republic of Belarus,” the general said.

Sergei Naev noted that the military understands that the troops that are being accumulated on the territory of Belarus will increase their degree of readiness and aggressiveness towards Ukraine. Accordingly, the military command will also build up Ukrainian forces and assets.

He explained that at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the enemy quickly advanced in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, because all threatening areas were covered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in peacetime states - the Armed Forces of Ukraine fought against superior enemy forces.

But after mobilization, the strength of the Armed Forces of Ukraine became such that the offensive was suspended. And later, the defenders expelled the invaders from the Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

He once again emphasized that as of October 13, the situation in the north of Ukraine is “fully controlled”, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are “fully ready” for a possible new offensive.
