On August 2, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said the army is fully prepared to retain a decisive edge as the character of warfare evolves, during a visit to the Multan Garrison.
According to the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Munir was briefed at Corps Headquarters by the Corps Commander Multan on operational readiness and ongoing training, Caliber.Az reports, citing Pakistani media.
He praised the formation’s professionalism and strategic competence.
Addressing members of academia and civil society, Munir stressed the need for national unity, civil-military cooperation and a “whole-of-nation” approach to counter hybrid threats, saying societal cohesion was essential to protecting national interests.
During the visit, Munir presided over the induction of Chinese-built Z-10ME attack helicopters into the Pakistan Army Aviation.
The all-weather aircraft, equipped with advanced radar and electronic warfare systems, can carry out precision strikes day and night. The ceremony at Muzaffargarh Field Firing Ranges included a live-fire demonstration.
ISPR said the new helicopters strengthen the army’s integrated battlefield response and ability to deliver “decisive effects” against potential adversaries.
Munir also commended troops’ morale, combat proficiency and use of combined arms tactics.
