Ukraine negotiating with Türkiye, UN on grain export
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is negotiating with Türkiye and the United Nations (UN) on the problem of Ukrainian grain exports.
"Indeed, we are currently negotiating with the Turkish side and the UN. Our representatives who are responsible for the safety of grain exiting our ports. Currently, Ukraine works with the UN, in particular, directly with the Secretary-General of the Organization, Antonio Guterres," Zelenskyy said at a briefing with Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Anderson in Kyiv, Interfax reports.
According to him, "it is a very important moment for someone to guarantee the safety of the ships of certain countries that will come to us to load food products other than Russia, which we do not trust."
"This is exactly what is being talked about now in Türkiye," Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, the UN, as Zelensky noted, takes a leadership position on this issue. "They, it seems to us, are ready to lead this process," the president said.
"On our part, we are not wasting time and are working on different ways, both railway and river, concerning the export of our grain. We are increasing our exports daily. It's not easy, difficult conditions," Zelenskyy added.
