Ukraine, Norway agree to jointly produce drones for Ukrainian military
Ukraine and Norway have reached an agreement to jointly manufacture drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced on his Telegram channel.
According to Shmyhal, the relevant document was signed with Norwegian Defence Minister Torgeir Sandvik, per Caliber.Az.
The next stage, he said, will involve launching a pilot production line in 2026, alongside work to expand capacity in the following years.
Shmyhal added that under the partnership, Ukraine will contribute its technological innovations, while Norway will provide the production base needed to supply the Ukrainian military with modern drones.
The deal, formalized during Shmyhal's recent visit to Norway, aims to scale up drone output amid ongoing Russian aggression, with a pilot production line targeted for launch in 2026. As of late November 2025, this builds on Norway's escalating support, including a €1 billion drone procurement package for 2025.
