Ukraine probes former Prosecutor General’s unreturned "business trip"

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding a “business trip abroad” taken by its former chief, Ruslan Kravchenko, who has not returned to the country.

According to Ukrainian media reports, Kravchenko left Ukraine on September 13, while his resignation had not yet been formally approved. He arranged the trip through September 18 and was expected to return on that date.

Kravchenko had previously faced accusations of providing protection to fraudulent call centres. He later submitted his resignation as prosecutor general.

On September 15, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree dismissing Kravchenko from the post.

Ukrainian media have reported that Kravchenko may be in Vienna.
