Ukraine ratifies EU joint medical procurement agreement
15 January 2026 14:59
Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, has ratified an agreement allowing the country to participate in the European Union’s joint procurement mechanism for medical protection measures, the Rada’s press service said.
The move will enable Ukraine to purchase essential medicines, vaccines, and innovative medical products in advance and alongside EU member states, Caliber.Az reports.
Officials say participation is expected to enhance Ukraine’s preparedness for pandemics, drug shortages, and other serious cross-border health threats.
The agreement also represents a step forward in Ukraine’s efforts to integrate more closely with the EU’s common medical and public health framework.
