Ukraine: Renewed night strikes target Odesa ports
Ukraine’s port infrastructure in the Odesa region came under fresh attack overnight on April 27, according to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), marking a continuation of near-daily strikes on the country’s key maritime hubs.
The strikes reportedly hit facilities supporting the operation of Ukraine’s Black Sea shipping corridor.
An energy installation located within a cargo terminal was damaged, triggering small fires that were swiftly brought under control by emergency services.
Separately, a commercial vessel, RAMCO, sailing under the flag of Nauru, was attacked while transiting the Ukrainian maritime corridor. The ship sustained minor damage, and a fire that broke out on board was extinguished by the crew.
No casualties have been reported at this stage.
Ukrainian authorities warned that the persistent targeting of port infrastructure poses a direct threat to international shipping safety and global food security. Despite the ongoing pressure, Kyiv says the maritime corridor remains operational, ensuring the continued flow of exports and logistics.
