Ukraine reports defence against large-scale Russian drone attack PHOTO
Ukraine’s Armed Forces say they have repelled an overnight drone assault involving more than 100 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The attack began on the evening of January 28 local time (from 18:00) and involved 105 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerber, Itilmas models, and other types, with around 70 being Shahed drones, Caliber.Az reports via the Ukrainian Air Force.

The offensive was countered by a combination of Ukrainian air force units, surface-to-air missile forces, electronic warfare teams, UAV units, and mobile defence groups, the armed forces said.
Preliminary reports indicate that by the morning of January 29, Ukraine’s air defence had shot down or neutralised 84 Russian drones across the north, south, centre, and east of the country.
However, 18 strike drones reportedly hit seven locations. Ukrainian officials added that the assault was ongoing, with several enemy drones still operating in the country’s airspace.
