Ukraine reports more than 80 combat engagements in five directions in past day Operational update

Over May 19, Russia launched 6 missiles and 62 air strikes, as well as shelled the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements 65 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

Civilian infrastructure was destroyed. In particular, as a result of the shelling of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnepropetrovsk district, the settlements of Stepnogorsk in the Zaporizhzhya district and Beryslav and Zelenovka in the Kherson district, there were dead and wounded civilians, a child was killed, residential private houses, medical institutions and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed, Ukrainska Pravda reports per the General Staff of Ukrainian armed forces on Facebook.

The report says that the probability of launching missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high because Russia continues to use terror tactics.

According to the publication, Russia will continue concentrating its main efforts on the Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky, Maryinsky and Miners directions. Over the past day, more than 80 clashes took place in the indicated sectors of the front, the hottest battles were fought for Bakhmut, Maryinka and in the areas of Avdeevka, Stepnoy and Novomikhailovka.

The operational situation in the Volyn and Polesye directions is without significant changes, no signs of the formation of offensive groups were found.

In the Seversky and Slobozhansky directions, Russia continues to maintain a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. Over the past day, it launched air strikes in the areas of the settlements of Glubokoe, Pletenevka and Zemlyanka in the Kharkiv district. Russia carried out mortar and artillery attacks on the settlements of Bleshnya, Karpovichi, Chernihiv district; Malushino, Spire, Volfino, Alekseevka, Sadki, Motritsa, Turya, Slavgorod, Upper Pozhnya and Pozhnya of the Sumy district, as well as Udy, Gatishche, Pletenevka, Pokalyane, Budarki, Dugout and Topol in the Kharkiv district.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russia conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in Belogorovka, Luhansk district; inflicted air strikes near Grigorievka, Olshanaya and Kislovka in the Kharkiv district. Figolevka, Novomlinsk, Petropavlovka, Dvurechnaya, Zapadnoye, Masyutovka, Liman Pervyy, Kislovka, Kotlyarovka, Tabaevka, Berestovoe in the Kharkiv district and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk district were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling by Russian forces.

Russia did not carry out offensive operations in the Limansky direction over May 19. It inflicted air strikes in the areas of the settlements of Novolyubovka and Dibrova in the Lugansk district. Artillery attacks were carried out on Studenok in the Kharkiv district; Makiivka, Nevskoye, and Belogorovka in the Lugansk district and Verkhnekamenskoye and Disputed in the Donetsk district.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian forces continue to conduct offensive operations. Heavy fighting continues for the city of Bakhmut. Over May 19, Moscow conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the direction of the settlements of Ivanovskoye and Belaya Gora; inflicted air strikes in the areas of the settlements of Fedorovka, Orekhovo-Vasilyevka, Bakhmut, Khromovoe, Ivanovskoye, Stupochki, Belaya Gora. Vasyukovka, Orekhovo-Vasilyevka, Grigorievka, Bogdanovka, Bakhmut, Ivanovskoye, Chasov Yar, Predtechino, Belaya Gora, Dilievka, Druzhba and Northern Donetsk districts suffered from Russian shelling.

In the Avdeevka direction, Russia carried out offensive operations in the direction of Novokalinovo, Stepovrgo, Avdeevka and Pervomaisky, but was not successful. During the day, Russia launched an airstrike near Avdiivka, and carried out artillery shelling in the areas of Novokalinovo, Berdichev, Avdiivka, Thin, Pervomaisky, Karlovka and Nevelskoye of the Donetsk district.

In the Maryinsky direction, units of the defence forces repulsed more than 20 Russian attacks in the area of the city of Maryinka. At the same time, Krasnogorovka, Georgievka, Maryinka, Kurakhovo and Ekaterinovka of the Donetsk district were subjected to Russian shelling.

Over the past 24 hours, Russia has carried out more than 10 unsuccessful offensive operations in the Novomikhailovka area in the Shakhtyorsk direction. At the same time, it launched air strikes in the area of the settlements of Ugledar, Prechistovka and Zolotaya Niva. Carried out attacks on the settlements of Novomikhailovka, Ugledar, Bogoyavlenka, Maksimovka, Zolotaya Niva and Velikaya Novoselka.

On the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson directions, Russia continues to defend. It inflicted an air strike on the settlement of Kizomys; carried out shelling of settlements, near the line of contact. Among them are Gulyaipole, Novodanilovka, Maly Shcherbaki, Stepnoe, Kamenskoe and Plavni of the Zaporizhzhya district; as well as Zolotaya Balka, Berislav, Zelenovka, Stepanovka, Kizomys and the city of Kherson.

Aviation of the Defence Forces in 24 hours delivered 13 strikes on Russian personnel and military equipment concentration areas, as well as 8 strikes on Russian anti-aircraft missile systems. Ukrainian defenders destroyed 3 Calibre cruise missiles, 18 Iranian Shahed strike UAVs, 4 Lancet loitering ammunition and 10 Russian reconnaissance UAVs of various types.

In addition, Ukrainian units of missile forces and artillery hit a command post, 7 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, 2 artillery units in a firing position, 6 electronic warfare stations, an ammunition depot and an S-300 air defence radar.
