Ukraine reports strikes on Russian naval vessels in Caspian Sea

Ukraine’s Defence Forces carried out a series of strikes against Russian military and infrastructure targets overnight into May 15, 2026, including naval assets in the Caspian Sea and energy and logistics facilities, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In a statement, the General Staff said Ukrainian units targeted “a number of important facilities” linked to Russian forces.

“Yesterday and during the night of May 15, 2026, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine carried out strikes on a number of important facilities of the Russian occupiers,” the statement read.

Among the key targets was the Ryazan Oil Refinery in Russia’s Ryazan region, where a large fire was reported following the strike.

“In particular, the Ryazan Oil Refinery in Ryazan (Ryazan region, Russian Federation) was hit. A large-scale fire was recorded on the territory of the facility. (...)”

The Ukrainian military also reported strikes on Russian naval vessels stationed in Kaspiysk, in the Caspian Sea, saying both a small missile boat and a minesweeper were hit at their basing location.

“In addition, the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck a small missile boat and a minesweeper at the basing point ‘Kaspiysk’.”

Further strikes targeted ammunition depots in Yepifanovka and Rovenky in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, as well as a logistics warehouse in Raigorodok in the same region.

According to the statement, Ukrainian forces also struck a warehouse containing Russian electronic warfare systems in Dmytrivka in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region.

In Mariupol, Ukrainian forces targeted a coastal technical reconnaissance post operated by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), hitting the MR-232 “Bussol-S” radar station along with an optical-electronic module.

“Ukrainian forces also struck a coastal technical reconnaissance post of the Russian FSB in Mariupol in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region: the MR-232 ‘Bussol-S’ radar station and an optical-electronic module were hit.”

Additionally, a fuel and lubricants depot was struck in Mariupol, according to the General Staff.

“In addition, a fuel and lubricants depot of the enemy was hit in Mariupol,” the statement said.
