Ukraine’s air defences shoot down over 600 enemy targets overnight PHOTO
Ukrainian forces successfully repelled a series of intense Russian attacks on critical infrastructure overnight, employing drones, cruise missiles, and hypersonic weapons.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, air defence radar units detected and tracked 673 aerial targets, including 635 Shahed and Gerber strike drones, three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, and 35 cruise missiles such as the Kh-101 and Iskander-K.
Ukrainian air force units, surface-to-air missile systems, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups worked together to intercept the attacks.
By the morning of December 23, Ukrainian air defences had destroyed or neutralised 621 aerial targets, including 587 drones and 34 cruise missiles. Hits were recorded in 21 locations, while debris from downed weapons fell across eight areas.
Three Kinzhal missiles failed to reach their targets; the locations of their impact are being verified.
