Ukraine’s Defence Ministry says Germany, UK to step up military aid

Following the 36th meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in the Ramstein format, partners announced new contributions to strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities on the battlefield.

Ukraine’s Defence Ministry said air defence systems, drones and ammunition for the Ukrainian Defence Forces were among the key outcomes of the 36th meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

According to the ministry, Germany had announced new deliveries of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defence systems and F-16 fighter jets, as well as purchases of drones.

The UK will allocate £100 million for the delivery of US-made weapons through the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism.

Britain will also provide an additional 95,000 drones by the end of the year, along with tens of thousands of long-range artillery shells funded by other countries.
