Ukraine’s Izmail port targeted again as infrastructure sustains damage
17 April 2026 12:32
The port of Izmail in Ukraine’s Odesa region was attacked by Russian forces overnight on April 17, resulting in damage.
The information was reported by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development on Facebook.
“An unmanned aerial vehicle hit the port area in Izmail. Administrative and production buildings and railway infrastructure facilities were damaged. Fires occurred and were quickly extinguished by rescuers. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Relevant services are working at the site. Attacks on port infrastructure in the region have been ongoing for several days in a row. Nevertheless, the ports continue to operate and ensure global food security,” the statement said.
