Ukraine’s Kyiv deprives Minsk of sister city status

Mayor of Ukraine’s Kyiv city Vitali Klitschko has said that the Kyiv City Council deprived Minsk (Belarus) of the sister city status at the meeting on June 9, 2022.

Minsk can hardly be called a sister city of Kyiv, RBC-Ukraine reports referring to Klitschko's message on Telegram.

“Nothing prevented us from making a decision to deprive Minsk of such a status. Missiles were launched in the direction of Ukrainian towns, settlements from Belarus and Russian troops also invaded Ukraine from that country,” he added.
