Ukraine’s Parliament goes remote after shelling cuts heat, water
20 January 2026 12:21
On January 20, staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine have been forced to work remotely, the parliament building remains without heating and water following recent shelling.
This was reported by Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zhelezniak, who noted that the temperature in his parliamentary office was around +12°C, and the heating was barely functioning.
The heating situation across the country is currently difficult. Many people have been without heat for several days, and this is a much more serious problem than the conditions in administrative buildings.
Russian attacks and weather conditions create an additional burden on the energy system.
