Ukraine’s Parliament seeks clarity on acting prosecutor general

A committee of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada has summoned the entire leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office to clarify who is currently serving as acting prosecutor general following Ruslan Kravchenko’s departure from the country and removal from office.

Ukrainian lawmaker Maksym Buzhanskyi said the committee supported his proposal to summon the leadership to address the issue.

“The committee supported my proposal and has summoned the entire leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office for tomorrow — unfortunately, not today — to determine who is now in charge there and on what grounds, and why this issue has to be clarified in such a complicated way,” Buzhanskyi wrote on Telegram.

On September 14, lawmaker Yaroslav Zhelezniak said there was no information on who was performing the duties of prosecutor general after Kravchenko left Ukraine.
