Ukraine's PM Svyrydenko to step down as Zelenskyy revamps government
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced changes to the government, including the departure of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, according to a statement published on his Telegram channel.
Zelenskyy said that Svyrydenko will leave her current position to lead a new area of work focused on relations with one of Ukraine’s key international partners.
According to the president, the cabinet reshuffle is necessary to implement a new political strategy.
Zelenskyy thanked Svyrydenko for her “clear, stable, and effective work” and said that changes to the composition of the government would be carried out in cooperation with parliament.
The Ukrainian leader also announced forthcoming changes in the leadership of the country’s law enforcement agencies.
