Ukraine's security service recovers weapon used in killing of MP Andriy Parubiy PHOTO / VIDEO
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced that it has recovered the weapon used in the assassination of Ukrainian MP Andriy Parubiy.
According to the SBU, the killer had hidden the pistol in a stash located in a forested area. DNA traces of the perpetrator were found on the weapon. Investigators also reportedly possess video footage showing the killer setting up the stash and reporting to a Russian handler, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
The SBU added that the recovered firearm may have been intended for use in other contract killings in Ukraine.
Parubiy, a prominent Ukrainian politician, was killed on August 30. Ukrainian authorities have previously suggested that Russian operatives may have been involved in planning the assassination.
