Ukrainian President Zelenskyy holds talks with Syria’s al-Sharaa VIDEO / UPDATED

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held talks with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, according to Ukrainian media.

The parties agreed to work jointly on strengthening food security in the region and advancing bilateral cooperation between their countries.

During the talks, the sides also discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine, the exchange of military and security experience, as well as the energy and infrastructure challenges currently facing Syria.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Syria, according to local Telegram channels.

The Ukrainian head of state is expected to hold a meeting with the Syrian president.

Zelenskyy announced “important meetings” in Damascus, emphasising: “We continue to pursue active Ukrainian diplomacy in the interests of real security and economic cooperation.”
