Ukraine’s Zelenskyy ready for any format meeting with Putin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has declared his readiness to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in any format, during a briefing with journalists, according to Ukrainian media.

“Zelenskyy is ready for a meeting with Putin in any format,” the outlet quoted the Ukrainian leader.

Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine and the United States are engaged in daily intensive consultations to coordinate the provisions of a peace plan. He added that a working group led by Rustem Umerov, head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council, is in constant phone contact with the team of US President Donald Trump.

Additionally, the US president indicated that a visit to Ukraine would be “helpful,” which Zelenskyy said could create conditions conducive to a ceasefire.

The comments come amid ongoing efforts to negotiate a framework for ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
