Zelenskyy thanks Azerbaijan for support in NATO defence forum address

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Azerbaijan for its support during his remarks at the NATO Defence Industry Forum in Ankara, Türkiye, on July 7, held as part of the alliance’s summit.

Zelenskyy said that Ukraine currently has “the world's largest and the most advanced drone warfare capability” and invited partners to expand cooperation through the Drone Deal initiative.

He noted that the initiative involves not only the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles but also joint production, rapid deployment of technologies, protection of critical infrastructure, and cooperation in the security sector.

“I also want to thank every leader, every country and every company cooperating with Ukraine in the defence sector. The European Union, Türkiye, NATO countries, as well as countries such as Azerbaijan and the Gulf States and other friends are already our strong partners, and I hope our cooperation will provide our nations with reliable protection against threats,” Zelenskyy stated.
