Ukraine says it downed nearly 50 of 80 Russian drones launched overnight PHOTO

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have intercepted and downed nearly 50 Russian strike drones over southern and eastern regions on the night of December 9 to 10.

The drones launched by Russia included Shahed, Gerbera, and other types, Caliber.Az reports per the Ukrainian Army General Staff.

Air defence systems, aviation, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian defence forces intercepted or shot down about 50 drones. 

Nevertheless, 29 attack drones struck seven locations, the General Staff said.

It added that the attack is ongoing, with several Russian drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
