Ukraine says Russian drones target Odesa port in overnight attack PHOTO / VIDEO

18 April 2026 11:32

Drone strikes have once again targeted a port in Ukraine’s Odesa region, according to regional officials, in an overnight attack that caused damage to infrastructure and injured a truck driver.

Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said Russian forces carried out the strike using attack drones, hitting port facilities and logistics infrastructure in the area.

“Russia continues to deliberately strike Ukraine’s port infrastructure and logistics,” Kiper stated. He said the attack damaged warehouses, cargo vehicles and a building, while several buses were set on fire. Silos containing maize at a port operator’s site were also damaged, triggering a fire.

A male truck driver was injured in the strike and received medical assistance at the scene, according to the regional authorities.

Emergency services were deployed to extinguish fires and assess the extent of the damage.

Officials in Kyiv have repeatedly accused Moscow of targeting Ukraine’s maritime export infrastructure in an effort to disrupt the functioning of its Black Sea shipping corridor and undermine both the country’s economy and global food supply chains.
