Ukraine shoots down 52 Iranian kamikaze drones overnight

The Ukrainian military shot down 52 Shahed kamikaze drones in the country's airspace during a massive enemy drone attack on the night of May 27 to 28.

A total of 54 strike UAVs were launched by the Russians, RBC-Ukraine report citing Ukraine’s Air Force.

The Air Force said that in this night attack, the Russian Armed Forces targeted military facilities and critical infrastructure in Ukraine's central regions, particularly in Kyiv Region.

"Most of the strike drones have been destroyed here in the Centre Air Command's area of responsibility!" the publication said.
