Ukraine shoots down 52 Russian drones, intercepts ballistic missile PHOTO

Ukrainian air defences shot down or suppressed one ballistic missile and 52 Russian drones across the north, south, and east of the country on the night of December 29 to 30. 

Hits from one ballistic missile and eight strike drones were recorded at five locations, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces said on Telegram, per Caliber.Az.

In total, over the reported night, Russia attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from Crimea and the Voronezh region, as well as approximately 60 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types.

The drones were launched from the directions of Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske and Chauda (Crimea). About 40 of these were Shahed drones.

At the time of the attack, Ukraine used aviation, surface-to-air missile troops, electronic warfare units, drones, and mobile fire groups to defend its airspace.
