Ukraine shoots down a Russian ballistic missile, dozens of drones PHOTO

Ukrainian air defence forces intercepted or suppressed one ballistic missile and dozens of drones launched by Russia on the night of January 13-14, the Ukrainian Army's General Staff said on Telegram.

In the nighttime attack, Russia used three Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from the Rostov and Voronezh regions, 113 strike drones of various types, including Shahed and Gerber drones. Approximately 70 of these drones were Iranian-made Shaheds, Caliber.Az cites the General Staff's message.

The aerial assault was countered by aviation, air defence missile troops, electronic warfare and drone units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces. 

Preliminary data indicate that by 8:00 a.m. local time, along with the ballistic missile, Ukraine’s air defences shot down 89 Russian drones over the eastern and northern regions of the country.

Hits were recorded for two ballistic missiles and 24 strike drones across 13 locations, while debris from the downed drones fell in three territories.
