Ukraine shoots down dozens of Russian drones in nighttime counterattack

The Russian military launched 60 strike drones and three ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M/KN-23 type against Ukraine overnight, the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement.

“In the night of October 20, the enemy attacked from the Crimean region with three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, as well as 60 strike drones of the Shahed type and other unmanned aerial vehicles from four directions," the statement reads, per RBC-Ukraine.

Preliminary reports as of 09:00 indicate that Ukraine’s air defence forces shot down or suppressed 38 Shahed drones and other types of UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country.

Impacts were recorded from three ballistic missiles and 20 strike drones at 12 locations,” the statement said.
