Ukraine shoots down dozens of Russian drones overnight PHOTO
On the night of December 28 to 29, Ukrainian air defences shot down 21 of 25 attack drones launched by Russian forces.
The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces announced on Telegram that the drones were launched from the Russian cities of Oryol and Millerovo, Hvardiiske town in Crimea, and Donetsk, per Caliber.Az.
However, four Russian drones managed to strike targets at two locations, causing limited damage, the statement reads.
It adds that approximately 15 of the drones were identified as Shahed models.
The airstrike was countered by a combination of aviation units, air defence missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
The Ukrainian military continues to monitor the situation and assess the impact of the attacks.
