Ukraine to extend martial law countrywide, MP says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to recently submit to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on the extension of martial law and general mobilization, said MP of the Verkhovna Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
"Next week somewhere July 22-25 will be voted in the Committee and then in the Rada. And it is very likely that again extend for 90 days, that is, until 9 November 2024," said the MP, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
He noted that the matter is about "already the twelfth vote of the Rada for martial law".
Martial law has been in effect in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. In early May this year, Zelenskyy signed a law on extending mobilisation and martial law until 11 August 2024. In addition, the law on toughening mobilisation came into force.
