Ukraine to launch mid-strike drone production in Norway
Ukraine will establish production of mid-strike class unmanned aerial vehicles in Norway, targeting enemy rear positions at distances of 50 to 200 kilometres, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence announced.
The Norwegian side will finance the project, and all manufactured drones will be transferred to Ukraine’s Defence Forces. The first deliveries are expected to take place before the start of summer.
Mid-strike drones offer greater range and more powerful warheads compared to FPV drones, while also demonstrating increased resistance to electronic warfare systems. At the same time, their cost is significantly lower than that of missiles with a comparable range.
Overall, Norway plans to allocate more than $1.5 billion this year for the procurement of Ukrainian-made weapons for Ukraine’s needs.
