Ukraine to use combat drones that can reach the Urals, the Arctic

05 April 2024 18:36

The attack on Russian military production and the infrastructure of an oil refinery in the Republic of Tatarstan was a turning point in Ukraine's strategy for long-range capabilities. Soon, Ukraine will be able to use other long-range UAVs with a strike radius of up to 3,300 km.

Drones will be able to reach the Urals and the Arctic, Bild reports.

The report mentions the recent attack on the country's third largest oil refinery in Tatarstan, in the eastern part of Russia, which is located about 1300 kilometers from the war front. Bild notes that modifications to some Ukrainian drones allow them to fly longer distances.

Therefore, the publication assumes that this year Ukraine will be able to use drones with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers or more. These drones will partially cover the shortage of medium- and long-range missiles.

Citing its own source, Bild indicates that by the end of 2024, 10 manufacturers will supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with drones with a range of up to 2,500 km. It is also noted that the Kyiv Design Bureau Luch has developed the Sokil-3000 UAV, which can fly up to 3300 km.

Thus, according to the estimates, Ukrainian drones will be able to attack even more targets, particularly in the Murmansk Region. The region is the location of about 80 Russian military bases, including the Olenya airfield, where strategic bombers are based.

Therefore, the map of extended zones for possible attacks will look like this.
