Ukraine, UAE agree to coordinate protection against Iranian strikes
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a conversation with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
Details of the discussion were shared on Zelenskyy’s official Telegram channel. According to the Ukrainian leader, he conveyed his condolences over the casualties resulting from Iranian attacks.
“I expressed my condolences over the deaths caused by the insane strikes from Iran,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that the Emirati president pointed to the indiscriminate nature of the strikes.
“The President noted that the Iranian regime is striking not only military targets, but literally everything — homes, shopping malls, even mosques. We discussed how we can help in this situation and support the protection of life. We agreed that our teams will work on this. Protecting life is a shared priority for everyone in the world,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The two leaders agreed that their respective teams would coordinate efforts aimed at strengthening measures to safeguard civilians amid the ongoing escalation.
