Ukraine unveils heavy underwater combat drone PHOTO
Ukraine has developed the SEA TRIDENT heavy underwater drone, designed to destroy strategic targets.
The underwater vehicle was presented by the Ukrainian company Global Mark at the Eurosatory International Defense & Security Exhibition in Paris, attended by a representative of Militarnyi.
The system is designed for maritime operations requiring full autonomy and low visibility.
The SEA TRIDENT is capable of delivering a payload of up to 1,000 kg to strategic targets. Thanks to its ability to operate underwater and its low visibility profile, it can reportedly infiltrate contested maritime zones undetected.
Its potential missions include strike operations, logistics and cargo delivery, as well as intercepting and neutralizing other unmanned underwater vehicles.
The vehicle is equipped with fully autonomous systems and adaptive navigation technology, and is capable of carrying out long-range operations. Its maximum range is reported at 2,000 miles, enabling extended missions.
The submarine weighs 10,000 kg and measures 10,000 × 2,000 × 1,500 mm. It has a maximum speed of 10 knots (18.5 km/h) and a cruising speed of 6 knots (11 km/h).
Its operational diving depth is up to 60 meters, allowing effective use in coastal environments.
The SEA TRIDENT was showcased at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris in June 2026. Images of the system were credited to Militarnyi.
This is not the first Ukrainian underwater drone. Last year, developers demonstrated an updated version of the Ukrainian underwater Toloka system, highlighting continued expansion of Ukraine’s unmanned maritime capabilities.
